Note: 'No Swimming' signs have been erected as to clearly illustrate Mass General Chapter laws at 'Conservation' land. What is 'conservation land' or 'town land' or 'reservation land'? They're one in the same comprising approximately 1,500 feet of shoreline from the heavily eroded 'Stone Root Beach' private use parcel by the former rail road bed, counter clockwise around Sachem's cove' for an additional 700 feet. The termination point is roughly where the 1st home begins at the end of Shore Drive.

Algae is growing on and around the cement landing (now sunk beneath the high waters) off the conservation land where non-residents swim. I believe this evinces organic runoff in the pond and may lead to further O2 debt as the algae dies and eutrophication occurs. Additionally, as I have been picking up glass, fishing line, hooks and sinkers, cigarette butts and sundry other debris along the shore line, I came upon two piles of feces (human?) at the waters' edge (I did clean them up!). Disgusting, but more eggregiously, a health hazard. Have citizens of Concord reported becoming sick from swimming in White Pond? My heart is breaking for the loss of this sanctuary.
